85 bayliner 1400

I going to look at a 85 bayliner 1400 capri with a 50 hp force outboard motor it jus like the boat my dad had when I was a kid is there any thing structural I should look out for or tell tell signs thanks

Yes, a 28 year old boat would be well into the structural rot stages, unless well maintained. So look for soft floors, dark wood under the fiberglass encasing of the stringers, cracks in the transom, etc. If a new floor was laid in over the old floor then it is typically a bad sign.

I have a 89 capri 15 witch is the same boat and i love it . I did have to redo my floors but the stringers seemed strong whith plenty of glass on them even if they where roted lol and my transom seemes to be in good condition too and my boat spent most of its life in the water. So goog luck and send pics.....
