Hi everyone new to the boating world bought a project for $500 and was wondering how to pull the motor and separate the transom seal. All is in good condition may need to rebuild fiberglass motor mounts and possibly new motor. I have to pull the motor so I can pull the broken starter bolt out of the block . Transom seal will have to be replaced due to it being cracked and have holes in it . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hey Red1989 - I have the same boat (cuddy instead of bowrider) - I built an engine hoist from 2X8 lumber, 2 bolts hold the engine to the transom, 2 bolts ea. to the (front) motor mounts, be sure to have the outdrive removed, along with exhaust, cables... etc.

My Seville needed a new transom & stringers, if you're going as-far as removing the engine, then it'd be worth your while to be sure that they are not rotted also - mine certainly were!

Good luck! It took a lot of work, but I really love my Seville!

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,...... I see it's OMC powered,... an '84 will be a stringer drive,.....

Not the best choice of boat to dump any money into,.....

Read the manual

Pull the $900 shift cable from the ESA housing

Remove the outdrive (by pulling the shift cable thru the intermediate housing very carefully)

Remove the 16 screws from the boot clamp

Unplug the wiring harness, and disconnect the battery cables

Remove and plug the fuel line

Remove the steering cable

Remove the 8 lag screw on the stringer mounts and remove the motor and intermediate housing together

Job should take 40 minutes and 2 beers
