84 Bayliner with Volvo 270 outdrive

Hello all,
I have a 84 Bayliner Capri, i believe it is a 1950, my question is after reading the adults only section, is there a easier way to change the drive bellow or is it pretty much how the manual shows? I'm not the best mechanic, but i do want to learn and try this on my own.(i hope..lol) any input would be great. thanks again

You do not have to remove the complete outdrive. Only the upper gear box.
