Was changing the plugs in my 1982 Mercury 40 hp and noticed this bolt backed out a few turns. Looks like it has some sealant or loctite on it. Does anyone know if I should tighten it? Thanks in advance!
That bolt look like it should be a brass plug, you have not provided your engine s/n but if you are sure the engine is a 1982, see item 38 in this link:
