80's OMC Small block carb, what one?

I have recently picked up an 80 (I believe) boat with a GM 5.0L OMC and 800 series outdrive. It was a storage unit abandonment so I have no background on it. The engine appears to be in running condition minus the fuel pump and carb. I do not know what type of carb this engine would have originally came with, but I'd like to replace it with something in the same range as stock as far as CFM and jetting do, not looking to over do it here. What carb would be reccomended and what CFM am I looking for? Is there anything else I need to look for in a marine carb or are they all pretty adaptable like automotive carbs?

Ayuh,.... What's the intake manifold,..?? 2bbl. or 4bbl.,..??

A 4bbl. of that vintage woulda been a Rochester Quadrajet...

Here's one I recently bought to replace the original on my '84 5.7 GM/OMC;

It bolted right on, but the fuel inlet was .75" to the left, and I had to extend the fuel pump vent to the rear. I chose the electric choke version, and tied it to the ignition circuit. I believe it's rated at 800 cfm, but a 5.0 or 5.7 will never get near that

It's a common enough carb and should be relatively easy to find. Just be sure to use a marine setup.
