Hey guys I have a guy that is giving me an 8 hp mariner 677-321206. Could anyone tell me the year of this motor and what it would be worth running? Guy said it needs points and condensers and of course carb rebuild and a new impeller..Thank you.

Looks like a 1978 model.

Value $200-$600 depending on condition and local market.

A long shaft would be $400-$600.

Hi. One of the most reliable and long lived engines ever made, in my opinion. That mariner you have is actually a Yamaha engine. Identical to the Yamaha 8hp of the same era. Most were aged around late 70’s to early 80’s. Later in the 80’s the mariner 8 was changed to a mercury engine.
