about to start my first boat resto. iv been researching for a while and am ready to jump in. i will be replacing deck stringers and transom. i was wondering about the thickness of the transom the one in there now is only 1/2 inch thick
cani and should i go thicker. sorry i have no pics at this time but will soon.

First off welcome to iboats! Secondly, what kind of boat are we talking about. Most generally transoms are 1.5" thick. Knowing what boat you have will help us see if you can go any thicker, but 1/2" is pretty thin so I would think you would want it to be thicker.

sorry for the lack of info the boat is a 19 ft 79 marquis carabien with a 3l mercruiser.
