Looks like some real nice work you've done so far, really stout!

On my V5 rather than use something laying in the bottom for support I plan on using angle AL to support the tank and rivet them onto the underside of the existing supports. The tank is so long and not very deep that the weight would be distributed pretty well. I think a number of supports cross ways would be better than one long one down the center.

Some great progress right there, for the support for the fuel tank why not get a piece of aluminum bent in an inverted V with a couple of 1"flanges bent to rivet to the ribs.

Good idea. I have the two pieces that ran along the gunnel that are already bent in the channel shape that may work. They are about 14 foot long so I may be able to modify them since I will not be reusing them. Ill have to dig them out and check.

I have thought about doing that, except welding them in flush with the new 3/16 ? 2" angle tank supports I put in there. I have been thinking of extending the current 50 gal tank to 80 and dont if the how much strain that would put on the stringers the supports are rivited to on rough water. The old wood support under there was completely decomposed when I gutted it, so def not going to with wood again. Ill let you know what I come up with.
