I really like the blue, obviously I'm biased:

I don't think I missed it, but just in case, what's the plan for a little gel color on the cap?

Great to see ya knocking it out again, step by step

Thanks JB...I have been pondering what to with the cap...I only have about a qt of the blue left...will wait and see how the sanding comes out on the hull first...If I have to guess I could order some more...maybe the out side vertical surfaces blue and the horizontal and inside surfaces white is what has been going through my knoggin....

I rolled it WoG... Decided to use wax, also thinned it some with mek....just went out and checked on it....I can walk bare foot on it and left no skin! I did a test the other day with adding sand...if it wasn't for the discoloration I got I would have done the wlking surface with it....the sand. I have is a light biege color and the gel came out the same... I will say it worked very wel....got the dea from the restore stuff I put on the front porch....it leaves a nice gritty surface....going out of town for a few days...will post some pics and the process when. I return...might prove useful for someone....

Talk about rolling.....storm rolling through right now.....left a little destruction in it's wake..... I was standing right next to this when it fell...like a big dumy!

Looks like it was almost as windy as me!!! If you want to use sand with your Gel and have it NOT discolor the Gel...Wash it with Acetone and then Strain it with a and old wire collander. This will get all of the "Dust" off of it and it won't discolor the Gel. Also another method is to roll out the Gel then sprinkle the sand over the wet gelcoat then after it dries roll the next coat over the stuck sand particles.

Has it really been over a month?

bear_69cuda said it best just recently..."I've been having a busy summer and it's simply on the back burner..."

Between cleaning up storm felled trees, deciding to take 3 more down, taking up stumps, roots...moving boulders across the yard..putting in rain gutter drainage...then there is work which has had me on the road for the last month....ya, I been busy...

But I did manage to sand down to 400 grit on the last blue side...
