'78 1150 has been reawakened after sitting for 2 years. After rebuilding carbs, fuel pump. Replacing the cap, wires. Took it out twice and it ran great. Third time out crossed the lake twice no problem. On the third crossing it died while at 3/4 throttle and would not restart. Used the trolling motor to get back to the launch site. Motor started and ran well enough to get it back on the traler.
Got it back home and primed the fuel and noticed fuel running out of the bottom carb. We opened the carb bowl and check the neddle vavle it was not moving so we took it apart and found a bit of black rubber had made it's way into the valve and caused it to stick. Suspecting it was from the fuel hose we replaced the fuel lines and put the carb back together and ran it at the house. All seemed fine.
Took it out Monday morning and it will idle but seems to be lower and rougher than it was before. Raise the fast idle arm and it speeds up just fine. As soon as you put it in gear it dies.
Do I need to take apart all of the carbs and see if there is more rubber cloggin things up?
