Used an old sign to cover multiple holes from the original owner bolting a back plate on. And added aluminum plate to the knee brace inside. Also did a transom cap.

Whats left is the splashwell drain tubes. Two u bolts for tie downs. Paint. And put the splashwell back on and mount the motor. Not too much at all.... 20200614_162320_compress72.jpg20200614_162308_compress51.jpg20200614_171046_compress92.jpg

Is 4 days a transom record? Luckily mine is camo so paint niceness isnt a great concern.

Wmann thanks for the link! Ill check them out. A box store didnt have what i was looking for. I need those screws, and maybe the tape from the splashwell thread i started.

Gonna wait a week or so to order that stuff. So far rough estimated cost for this is 200$ the rest should put me at 250-300$. I told the boss woman 200$ so im already over. 20200615_155814_compress64.jpg

With all the rain here lately i looked under the hull for a leak check. And sure enough knee brace has 2. One popped solid rivet and a pop rivet near it i used to plug a pin hole corrosion leak during my first rebuild.

I did get the new ss tie downs in today.

Got splashwell in 10 mins before the storm showed. The tape didnt really work out for me. But longer marine wood screws should help way more then my last build. Pretty sure i used the wrong screws for that one. 20200703_140839_compress22.jpg

I get the pos and earth. But do i need to do anything with the blue and yellow dash light wires? Or optional? 20200704_125928_compress7.jpg

Looks to me like additional connections for more gauges is all. Like my Chief that's an IO has a whole bunch of gauges, digital depth finder, tach, speedo, trim, volts, temp and oil pressure.

Thanks wmann. I got it in yesterday. Everything working like it should. Boats back to fishable again. I do need to redo the front deck at some point though.

Edit: i have to fix the through hull leak at the knee brace also.

FB_IMG_1639259795346.jpguh oh, I've been at JBLM, WA since June. Brought my boat to FL first. My dad said the deck was soft. Which it was. So new deck going in. Probably new floor plan also! Been missing this place!

Green carpet this time. Couldn't find brown. And front deck storage. I'm thinking he will add a bow mount trolling motor my dad has laying around now.
