I became the owner of a 1975 Merc 110 a few weeks ago and this being my first Mercury to ever own I don't have a female fuel connector for the tank line. I could buy one but I only have one tank that I swap between my other two evinrudes. I've done some snooping around the interweb but haven't found anything specific yet so I figured I would go straight to the experts. I've read that it could be done but is there anything special I should know to swap the male connector on the motor to an OMC style to save myself some trouble? And is it true that it can be done cleanly and not jerry rigged? I know Mercury used several different connectors over the years and I'd really rather not play a guessing game hoping I get the right one. Thanks in advance fellas.

Use your omc tank.
Cut the merc fitting off the fuel line and clamp on an omc fitting that fits the tank.

I have an omc tank and I have fuel lines that will fit a variety of motors, old merc, new merc, omc, force, etc.

I can use this one fuel tank for any motor I may be working on or test running.

Thanks for your reply. Thats what I wanted to know. I am by no means an expert on anything so I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was not aware of before I swapped it out. This will save a lot of trouble. Thanks again
