72 40hp johnson

Does a 72 40hp johnson have a thermostat and if so where is it located and is it easy to replace.

Yes it does! it's located on the cylinder head.

i just looked at the brp crankcase diagram, and a themostat is not listed or on diagram.

I looked at my parts source and could not find one either. I am also curious if there is one in that motor.

yea I have not found anything about there being one on the motor and I was wondering if it was the reason there was no water coming out of engine, but i will keep looking around
