70 Johnson 25 hp cant kill engine

ok here it is, i want to go to a 6 termal switch with a push button choke, but I get it to start and runs great but cant sut the engine down. I know that the 2 black wire go to the M and M on the switch but it wont shut it off,,so then i put it back to the original push button kill switch and it still wont shut off. what is it that i need to do to get it right

Make sure u use the 2 wires off the push button. one on each "M" terminal. then chck to make sure when the switch is off they both are showing ground with a test light. Best way to do it is to put the aligator clip on the bat terminal and use the probe on the "M" terminals. If it lites on one side and not the other then the problem is with the switch itself. Both "M" termina;s should show grounded with switch in "OFF" position

thanks for the input but even the old push button switch wont work now and it good, i thinking it may have sonething to do with the wires under the flywheel beind bad. i may get to it this week some time have to wait as see
