7.5 merc no spark

I have a 79 merc 7.5 .No spark .Ran good last summer this year nothin.Is there a way to test the black box?.Or the magneto's.With a meter .

The box can not be tested without a DVA but this test can eliminate the other componets and if they are good it's the box.

Thanks .I did what I could and it does look like the switch box(250 bucks)But I am still Worried if I buy it and it turns out being something else and can't return it.So I think I'll take it to the shop.If they try it they can put it back on the shelf.Thanks for the quick reply ,This forum is awesome!!

That's not a bad idea. Replacement of the switchbox is so simple that it shouldn't cost you more than the minimum shop time + part. But like you said, if you do it yourself, but your guess is wrong, you can't return it.
