69 6hp drive shaft ?

on this drive shaft above the pin does anyone know if anything goes above that on the shaft im looking at some diagrams of it and it looks like there is a bushing a spingg and o ring im looking all over my garage and i cant find these items i dont know if i lost them but i dont remember taking these out.... or are they attached to the bottom of the power head thanks

That stuff is all assembled onto the drive shaft. It is absolutely vital to the health of the powerhead. It will work for awhile without it, but the eventual result is trash because water gets up into the crankcase through the lower main bearing. Then somebody will look at the results and proclaim that it is an oil problem. It isn't the oil, it's the water!!

Make certain that the parts are all good and assembled correctly, and always replace the gasket and o-ring.

thank you very much i found a set on ebay for cheap.... the more i take a look at this motor the more im finding wrong with it i think it only had the spring before because thas all i have left thanks for the heads up
