800 is a fair price even if the hull needs some minor repair and the engine is sketchy. rick paid that for his 16 footer that he had to repair hundreds of holes in the hull due to the previous owner having screwed wooden stringers and supports THOUGH THE HULL.

I paid 400 for mine non running and needing a FULL gut job. the only thing salvageable was the seats.


I say go for it.

Rhody that is a fair price for that boat . As Andy said thats what I paid for my Jupiter and I had to gut it and start over fresh and yes I had about ( 30 ) holes in the bottom of the hull I had to fill due to a PO deciding that screwing wood stringers into an Aluminum boat through the hull would be a good idea . I have just recently finished painting the bottom of mine and returned it to the trailer . Now the fun begins put a new deck in finish the interior ( dont forgetthe Gluvit ) paint the topside put the motor back on etc.etc.

I will link you here to NorthBeaches boat to give you an idea of the potential of the one you are looking at . Northbeaches boat ( to quote Vin Diesel ) " is an amazing machine " .

Rhody that's a rare hull to find as previously mentioned...that being said the guy should budge on the price if it sits for another few weeks.

Are those lobster or crab traps? Do they come with the rig?

Also is that a ski eye above the outdrive? I agree that boat has all kinds of fittings and hardware that looks to be in good condition. I wonder how much of that stuff was from the factory?

I wonder if you mentioned to the seller that the trailer looks like it's in rough shape if he may knock off a couple hundred...it does look like it needs some work/tires. Maybe BS him(just a little) and offer $500 for just the hull...since you don't want the trailer...then maybe he'll say ok $600 for the whole package...since I'm assuming that you probably do need the trailer.

Just a thought...Rick's advice is good too...he's good at buying used boats

Yeah those are some Lobster Traps, Crab Traps and even a Conch Trap inside... I'll be trying to make those part of the deal cuz that's part of what I'll be doing with the boat besides fishing. I have read through NB's restore thread twice now and am very impressed, wish I had that much skill and perserverance myself! One awesome boat there.

Claimed to have another buyer wlling to pay $50 more... I do kinda trust the guy not to play me but who knows. hate to find out by losing it to next buyer.

Congratulations If I were you I'd print up color copies of North Beach's restoration thread as a guide/owners manual of sorts

Good luck with the rig and can't wait to see some more pics of the big old girl.

as mentioned..it's a pretty rare hull..
There is a 21 foot Holiday out here for 600 with a blown merc 120..

I actually paid 800 for mine a few months ago and was in this condition..

I have neither the skills or the coin to go all in like you but will do the needed things right away like, tighten/seal rivets, the deck, some paint etc etc... Later I will attempt a few more indepth things and hopefully one day get in Liquid Limo like condition.

Got her berthed today and Pier #50 where I imagine she'll be moored in drydock for a year at least. Trailer/boat rode like a champ the 48 mile sea trial home all up I-95 North. No lights and no safety chains made for a bit of a nail biter at times but I followed one trucker about 25 miles who was going a steady 55mph. A few more pics too...

LR, good lookin boat! and I'm glad sombody finally found another sunchief. As far ar getting her ready for fun in the sun, it's a matter of what YOU want to do.

Where exactly are you located? did that tub come with seats? I have a set of jump seat frames here if we could figure a way to get em to you.
