Just got my boat back from baker marina by Carson City, Mich. and it still doesn't run right. Rpms seem good when not in gear but no power when in gear(moves the boat slow but no speed).Bottom cylinder plug was fouled, put in new and no change. "They say" that they filed the points, set timing, and tuned the carb and it ran good. To bad it never did for me. Does anyone have an idea just what my problem may be and how to fix it?

sounds like the coil is out on the bottom cyl. if you just took the boat to the shop and they said it ran good, take it back and tell them to make it fire on both cyls. pull the bottom plug and ground it see if it's fireing (should be a good hot blue spark)

I am having the same problem with my '75 50hp Evi and I did think it was the bottom coil. Got a new coil from Napa for $33 and still no fire. Have blue spark but very weak. Just took my flywheel off this AM and found cracks in my stator coils. could this be a source of the problems with both of ours?
