64 Starchief Starcraft Windshield?

I have a 64 starchief Starcraft that we are restoring and I am trying to find a windshield for this used would be good as I don't have lots of $$$ at moment ... Any suggestions would be great!

I am ready to get my baby out on the water

Are you looking for the upper windshield? If so, that big flat deck up there should lend itself to being adaptable to lots of different windshields. Keep your eye on Craiglist for either a windshield, or a junked out fiberglass hull with a nice one on it. I was able to adapt a nice glass 3 piece shield from a tri hull to my Jupiter pretty well.

What part of the country do you hail from? CL is a great way, if you are in MI I have 4 spare windshields off boats I've scrapped.

I'm in the same boat... literally. I also have a 64 Starcraft Starchief and I need the windshield for the cabin, not the top. I found a company out of Florida that can make them for $395 but the shipping is about $250 and they want you to send the old one in if you can - that adds up. Now I'm searching for a salvaged starchief that I can buy for parts.

isn't a salvaged one going to have the same problems as your old one?

wonder if they would give a group rate if we had 5 or 6 people from here order a Starchief windshield at the same time? i need the lower one too as my old one is way poopy (arcane technical term used in the plastics industry....). it's there and usable, but i wonder what would happen when a big wave over the bow hit it full on could get ugly trying to get home in a storm with a blown in windshield.........

I just made a new lower windshield for my Chieftain for $60. Used the old one as a template. I will be posting up pics soon on my resto thread.

i see a new way for Michael to fund his tin boat addiction in the future if he decides to make those up........altho i'm assuming since his boat is a 74, we're talking about a flat windshield rather than the curved one?

add me to the list of folks who are dying to see that.

^ Thats funny there barato2. Your correct, mine is flat with one bend in the center so it's easy to duplicate.

Dear 1973- -I live in michigan and I am looking for a windshield to fit the cabin of a starchief. The old one is partially melted because a boat burned in the marina near it and the heat was to much!! I live in the UP but I have a friend that goes to Port Huron often- -please let me know.
