well i put my boat in the water the other day and it will rev up in neutral but in gear it will push up half throttle then bog down will push the boat at about 15mph at half will but then if i push it all the way the motor revs up for a min and the boat goes faster and then bogs right out i feels like its a mis fire to me but i could be wrong

Sounds like a spark issue... the coil is breaking down or bad plug.

i had the fly wheel off the other day and noticed that the back ciol had cracks in the casing the front coil looks like its been replaced could that be the problem or should i just replace both at the same time.

Replace both white you're there. Replace points and condensors too along with plug wires. And make sure the new coils mount flush on the outer edge to the base or else your flywheel may hit the coils... there is a special tool but you can use your thumb to feel it smooth. Keep all your wires tucked down and out of the way from the bottom of the flywheel as well.

.....and torque the flywheel down with a torque wrench to 105 ft-lbs. The taper must be clean and dry.
