Hey guys. Great forum here!
I am the new proud owner of a 1991 60hp Johnson on a tx 17 bass tracker.:)

The motor has a new powerhead on it.(Relevent?)
When I try to take off at a slow speed easing into the throttle it will constantly die. If I just get straight into the throttle it will take off and run really great. If I just use the fast idle and rev it up its ok.
I think the choke maybe sticking sometimes also. It will sputter real bad at higer speeds so I turn it off and just sit a few mninutes and then it will run fine.

Also noticed if I sit for just a little while catfishing it will lose its prime.

Anybody have an idea what is wrong with this?

Thanks!
about to order a manual for this also. Recommendations appreciated.:)

Rebuild your carbs and do a link and sync and you should be good to go. I have a 1991 -70 hp rude, basically the same engine. They are great motors. Make sure you get the omc manual. I got mine off ebay for about 20 bucks.
