55 hp Chrysler Impeller change

When I was changing the impeller, the "exhaust" tube fell out.

Not covered in the manual, how do you put that sucker back in?

Year model# Serial#?
Most time it needs the head to be removed to put it back right.
You might be able to push it back in the hole but it might work its way loose?
