Hello all. I have a 69 55 johnson that i was running today and heard what sounded like the propeller was knocking.I slowed to nuetral and it stopped.I put it back in gear and the engine locked up on me.I removed the plugs to see if i could free it up and still nothing.Should i take the LU off to check if it locked there?I am a novice at repairing them but I have some mechanical ideas and would appreciate any help i could get.
Thanks in advance

Update.Took lower unit off unfroze the flywheel. There was plenty of oil in it i had changed it our about 2 months ago.IMpeller looked good as i had replaced that as well.Any suggestions?LU is seized up.With it being a 1969 model would it be better to rebuild or replace? It is an electric shift and the motor ran great prior to seizing up.If replcing where would i look at finding the cheapest to replace?
Thanks
