use carb cleaner and compressed air to blow all openings clean, and adjust the float.
Make sure you get all new gaskets, including between the carb, and carb adaptor.
827688A 1 is the part # e-bay $50
But do you really need a rebuild kit? What it doing that you need to fix?
I've found just cleaning will usually do the job.
Don't adjust the float it shouldn't need it.
That "rebuild" kit is a very base kit and doesn't have all the parts needed to do a complete rebuild.
IF?? you had looked further you would have seen the right kit for $50.94 on this site.
Thanks for the replies. Some times once or twice a year the motor will start with choke then die after starting just like running out of gas. I take idle screw out and blow air thru and sometimes it fixes it. I think trash is in it some where. Some times on the lake if I can get it in gear after I choke it and go wide open real fast it will fix it.
Install a filter between the carb and the pump.
Or between the tank and the pump.
Wally's G-2 or G-3 or G-12 Install under the cowl if you choose between the pump and tank.
That "idle screw" is an idle/ fuel mixture screw.
It needs to be set right for proper operation.
Initial setting 1 and 1/2 turn out.
Motor warm, in gear.
Idle at 750-800
Slowly turn in 1/8th a turn.Wait 10 seconds and see how motor responds.
When the motor starts to buck and kick, turn the screw out 1/2 turn.
Then reset the idle to 800 in gear.
Try not to take it out again.
Thanks Jerry I needed that Inf. I plan on replacing hose from tank to pump as it is very old 1997. also new filter under cowl as it has never been changed. I am also going to remove carb and clean the best I can. This motor is on a 1997 Sprint Bass boat and has been very reliable most of the time starts with just a bump of the key when warm.
