TL;DR:
When the 50 amp breaker trips, does the button pop out? Has anyone had it fail without external evidence of failure?
Boat ran perfectly for about a half a day for the first time in 3 years
Oil pressure gauge started bouncing, noticed fluctuations in voltage at helm, etc. Boat still running fine, no misfires. Intermittent gauge issue of course, so everything under the helm checked out voltage wise when I measured.
Pulled cannon plug, and had one pin stick and pull partially out. Pushed back, plugged in, and everything dead. Short story, plug wasn't the problem, the main breaker wasn't getting power across it. Weird readings, 4v with power, high resistance across terminals. Messed with the button, it didn't move. Tried taking it apart. It did not want to be taken apart, would be difficult to completely r and r without destroying it. After putting it back together, it started working again. I ended up throwing a spare on there and everything seems fine (too rough to take out and see if the bouncing gauges are cured).
