All these comments about grits and other tasty treats reminds me that in a few more weeks the okra will be gone. I'll have to plant a few more rows next year!

Yeah, but now is the time to start your winter Cole crop. Collards, turnips, cabbage, broccoli and onions.

Mmmmmmmmm! Collards, cornbread, and a big cold glass of buttermilk!!!

Ever try red river 7 grain porridge, now that stuff sticks to your ribs when its -40c out!

When it's minus 40 C it's also minus 40 F. Ain't many of us down here in the USA that ever see minus 40!!! I've seen minus 38 at my house, and colder at my folk's farm in northeastern South Dakota (Minus 101 F with wind chill!!!!!)

Thats true. But when its -45 here this winter it will be even colder if Fahrenheit!

I've seen 42 below about sixteen years ago in western Minnesota. I believe it was -60 in the Arrowhead that morning. Wow!
