When I was testing the flow... to check the water coming up throught the outboard intake holes I used my fingers to "pressure clamp" the ears and the water came right up and out the hose ( detached from pump ). i did the same thing when I was testing the pump. Would not that flood/prime the pump if it was working correctly??
You would think so but second you removed your hands, what happens? With the tape there, you put the hose on tighten the clamp & get up go start it.
Key out of ignition while you are working on the pump!
