5.0l EFI won't start after sitting hot for a while

I have had this happen 3 times now where after using the boat for 4-5 hours we stop for a swim break for 30 minutes and the boat will not start. I pulled the flame arrester and I don't see good spray from the fuel injectors. After sitting for more than an hour it starts and runs normal. My serial is 0L716228. It's a 5.0l EFI from 2000. I checked fuel pressure when I got home and have 30-35psi with the key on and fuel line disconnected from the tbi. Is my fuel pump failing or some kind of vape lock issue? Each time it's happened it was 100+ degrees outside and we had been running for 4+ hours before the problem occured.

Sounds like vapor lock. After stopping the heat soaks into the fuel system and boils the fuel. The excess fuel gets pushed into the filter and leaves the vapor. When motor cools down the fuel returns

MPI motors have a easier quick fix with having a schrader valve that can be pressed and expel the air. TBI motors there is no valve so need time or other means to cool the fuel system

Merc says to run the blower, open the hatch to let the heat out

Thanks. I will try that and I might also try removing the fuel line the next time from the tbi just to see that the fuel gas is coming out instead of liquid.
