5.0 Mercruiser with Apha One

I have a 2000 VIP Vixen with a 5.0 Mecruiser with Apha One drive. How can I safely start the engine out of the water? What tools, etc... do I need.

Ayuh,... You'll need a set of water Muffs to feed it water,+ a garden hose with decent pressure/ flow....
Trim the drive down to nearly touchin' the ground, hook-up the muffs, turn on the water,+ twist the key...

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I didn't need anything else besides the water muffs.
