470 head bolt

i am puttingback together an 1987 -- 470 whAT IS THE PROPER HEAD BOLT TORQUE ? I AM THINKING 65LBS BUT WOULD TO KNOW FOR SURE THANKS I BOATS AND MEMBERS

my manual says 130 lb ft for the cylinder head bolts my manual is the #8 one funny you asked that i'm putting back together my 1983 470

the manual also says torque with valves closed, retorque after the first startup.

Yeah 130 in two stages, in the proper order, and retorque after running. Put down the wrench and step away till you download the manual and do EXACTLY as it says LOL. Here is the manual: http://www.4shared.com/document/zTbCbkDD/Service_Manual_08.html
