hi all i just got my first boat and it has a 40hp evinrude big twin outboard on it and the modle number is 40602b <br />just wanting to know more about it like what fule and things like that<br /><br />thank's<br /><br />brett

1966 40hp good engine. when was it last run, if it has sat for a while use red search at top of page search for 'awakening a sleeping motor'. i'm not sure about the fuel/oil mix so i'll left some else tell you.

Fuel mix is 50:1, frylops.<br /><br />All OMC engines before 1964 use 24:1, all 1964 and later use 50:1.<br /><br />Exception: Some of our most knowledgable helpers recommend staying with 24:1 in the 6hp and smaller engines up to around 1970.
