I recently determined that my stator is the cause of my weak ignition problems. I have one on order from my local Merc dealer (CDN $337.00). I was told my motor originally came with a 9amp stator but due to problems with the 9amp it is being replaced with a 16amp stator. It will be arriving mid next week and before I install it I was wondering if theres anything I need to do in terms of modifications to the ignition sytem because I'm replacing a 9amp stator with a 16amp stator. Also is there anything I should check before installing the new stator in case the stator wasn't the initial problem? Just want to cover all the bases before installing the new stator.
