I've been trying to figure out the problem on this outboard for a while now and it seem to be the charge coil thats the problem. So I tried to get the flywheel nut loose with my battery impact and it would not budge. So I got a good electric impact but now I'm afraid maby its reverse threaded. Would anyone know if that's the case? And after the but is removed do you need a puller to get the flywheel up? The holes in it have no threads rendering my puller useless. Thank you all for any help you can give.

It is conventionally threaded. To loosen turn counter clockwise.

Flywheel is tapered. You will need a puller to remove it.

If you think the nut is tough to loosen, wait until you try to remove the flywheel.

When you say that it "seems to be" the charge coil, what do you mean?

You should be able to test the charge coil in situ to see if it is within specifications or not.

I am not understanding your comment about the flywheel not being threaded for this installation of the puller assy bolts.
