402 starter fluid

74 402 jet.It getting hard to pull start.So will a little fluid hurt the motor?, It runs great. also i found in the bottom part of the housing a 1 inch return spring and i don't know where it goes.Any help will be great

Thats a good way to ruin a good engine. if nething get your some mixed gas in a squirt bottle and use that never use starting fluid

use only premixed fuel to spray into the carb. starter fluid removes the lubrication and burns tooo hot. it is time for carb cleaning and rebuild kits.

Actually, the best solution is to fix the engine so you don't have to resort to this procedure.
