I own a 4 hp nissan 4 stroke and I know that i have seen a hose adapter, on other outboards, that plugs into the bottom of the motor but I don't know where it plugs into and where to buy it? Or would it be better to just put it in a bucket of water?

Depending on your actual model (you didn't specify), the drain/flushing plug is located on the underside of the power head, or near the LU oil vent plug.

Plug on photo is correct, will need to buy a flush adapter, being so small engine, better flush it on a barrell, unscrewing, screwing often adapter and plug can lead to premature ruin of engine's plug threads..

Happy Boating
