Re: 4.3l Mercruiser cold starting problems (HELP)

Ok installed the new pressure switch same thing will run for about 10 to 15 sec the dies. put the fuse link back in with the 15amp fuse and runs for about 3 to 4 mins then dies. I can restart the engine and it runs for about 3 to 4 mins then dies willstart back up every time. checked the new pressure switch with a volt meter and the switch is closing when the engine starts up.

I guess my question is this a bad fuel pump that it is only pumping in to the bowl on the carb but not pumping all the time?

I recall there was an issue with the pump connector. (I'll try and dig up the SB)... In essence, the connector on the pump would vibrate loose... Have you looked at the pump connector? It may just need pushing down...

Have checked the connection at the plug it is good there. Does it come loose at the fuel pump itself?
