3M 5200 and Aluminum...

Is this a bad mixture? I have seen several references to 5200 attacking bare aluminum and yet many post of people using it, what your experience? Thanks.

I once owned a 24 ft Chrysler lonestar aluminum, inside and outside the hull,I used 5200 in several places with no issues at all.Charlie

Hundreds (thousands?) Have used 5200 w aluminum boats and not 1 reports its incompatibility.

Just like FB, I dont think Tin Boats offers best practice advice.... sometimes yes, but quite often not.

The Tin Boats Forum has a poster that has photos of 5200 attacking aluminum, etc...
I see 1 guy on that forum that has this claim, and some 1500 saying to use 5200.

I think the guy sells boat life caulk, which has got to be the worst crud I have ever tried to apply.
