35 mercury starving for fuel

Hello all I hope you can help me I have a 35 mercury that when I prime the bulb it starts right up,runs fine for 2-3 min then dies out.

But If I stand there a prime the bulb while its runnning every 30-45 seconds it runs like a champ.

From what i have read on here I should try a new hose and primer bulb,( going to go get one today, after that what should I try?

Or should I just take it to a mechanic?

Any ideas please help..

Try the bulb and hose first. If that doesn't do it you may need to rplace the fuel pump diaphragm
