3 wire / 4 wire VRO

what is the difference in the wiring? I have a 3 wire VRO now. I am going to replace it. Will the 4 wire work?<br /><br />Fisherman

There are pumps and kits to convert from 3 wire to 4 wire pump, dealer should have this info, when you tell him/her which engine you have.

I converted my 1985 from a no-wire VRO pump to the 4-wire pump and got the wiring conversion kit all from my local dealer.<br />I think the 4-wire pump give you a "no-oil" warning.

Tell your dealer to look up the original part number in the book, then check the price book for the latest superceded number. That way you will get the whole kit, and not just a pump. The price is almost the same.
