i had the intention of using 4lb foam. drove 2 hours to go get the product, and found out i have 2lb foam. on some websites i see that 2lb gives more floation by a couple of pounds. and noticed a lot bigger expansion rate for the 2lb.
i am going to pour the foam in a sealed floor through holes after i finish the rest(someday i hope). would the 2lb foam use a lot less than the 4lb. or should i drive back and pick up some 4lb.

how do i know if i need structure or not.
there is no cross members to the edges of the hull. does this mean i need more structure.

if you want to see the bare hull.

http://home.bresnan.net/~1991searay160

Looked at what you're doing there.. You been busy.... :)

Anywhoo.. 4lb would be total overkill, not to mention twice the cost..

2lb is plenty fine... If you are glassing down a floor, the box that the floor creates when tied into stringers and when the edges of the floor are glassed into the hull, will provide more than enuff strength... Bulkheads or "cross members" wont be necessary...
