27ft Boat Prop recomendation

I have a 27ft Monterey with a Volvo 7.4 Ebelbrock 1410 carb paired to a DP 290 outdrive. Well, I thought I blew the clutch but ended up being a spun hub. Since I got the boat for such a deal I had the whole outdrive gone threw by a Volvo specialist. He recommend I put new props on it since it had a miss matched set on it. Replaced with 2 stainless props set C6. The boat never got on plane very well and I was only able to get 3200 max rpms outa it. Now I can only get 2800 and boat will not go on plane.

Can anyone with a similar boat recommend what prop set to use? Im thining I have a carb problem with the secondaries not opening up. Boat never felt like it was getting full power prior to prop change.

And what is the gear ratio?

I think you need to get your engine tuned and running properly b4 determining if the your prop set is wrong. Make sure the carb is working correctly and check your timing and that if the dist advances. You might want to check total timing advance while your at it. I'm curious what props were on it too.
