lost speed on water even on high rpm.found water in outdrive.replace new oil.now outdrive knocks when put in gear.also got a knock in flywheel area. please help
i just had the same problem but it was worse i had to get a new bellhousing and universal joint and the answer was the drive bellows had a hole in them when was the last time you changd them inspect your bellows then remove the upper unit on your sterndrive and grease your Ujoint and replace all seals but the knocking i would say is the Ujoint
It sounds like you have an internal problem with your drive that resulted from the water. It could be U joints, but when there is water in the drive to the point where it effects performance there is a good chance that some damage has been done.
