Hello,

I'm new to the forum, excited to be here. I recently bought a 26 foot Tritoon classic. I'm still getting familiar with everything but I took it out last week end was testing my top speeds. I only managed about 28 MPH and this worries me for a few reasons. The last owner did not mention any issues but was a little hesitant when I asked him about past repairs or problems. Second, while researching I read here http://pontoonresource.com/pontoon-info/how-fast-pontoon-boat-average-speeds/ that I should be topping out at around 35 MPH? Does anyone here have experience with Tritoon classics?

What are the first things I should look at and should I be worried? Really looking forward to achieving the highest top speed I can get. Thanks!

Welcome aboard.

Pontoons are displacement hulls that take alot of power to go fast in. They are the perfect party boat or fishing boat for just loafing along on

If you want speed, you need something other than a pontoon boat
