I have a 25 HP Mercury 1990. I want to know if I replace a known bad stator with a new one, will it be damaged by a switch box, of unknown condition. The switch box appears to be new, changed by the previous owner. I'm trying not to go in circles, each bad unit damaging the good. Would it be better to just change them both? Is there an easy way to check the switch box? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks, Dave
