The motor starts and runs fine for about 30 minutes then shuts off and will not restart. It never has hard usage. I think I have heard that the water pump impeller vanes could be broken. Is that a strong possibility? If so, can a person with reasonable mechanical skills and good tools replace it while the boat is on the trailer?

Not hard to do.----Ask before using hammer an any parts.

Is the engine peeing well?

I don’t know squat about the Etec technology but there has been a lot of chatter on here about the power pack or equivalent over heating. Do a bit more looking around through old post and you will find lot of talk about it on here.
