by the way.... as far a s the de lam in your keel and chine areas.....your friend was correct.

after they hit the mold with the gellcoat and took the chopper gun to it.......the boat is rolled out with resin rollers......a gap like that occures if the people with the rollers do not roll all the way into the strakes corner. this is common with larger rollers. a little more detail on the line and a far superior product would have been made.

when i do repairs and run into that situation....i fill the gaps with structural peanut butter as far as i can without grinding out the whole chine or strake.

yes you can make that into a centre console .... but it will be a fair amount of work to make it look good.

one of the benefits you have right now is a low centre of gravity on the boat......if you go centre console.....what will happen is the cog will raise in the bow area.

if you did a 2 story deck......(lower half of the cuddy as storage....top is deck) ... you would get the best of both worlds.

What do you mean by 2 story deck? Cut the cuddy down flush to the level of the bow portion of the boat? Then deck it in. That would give a step from bow to stern. Question is would i then build the cc on the stern deck, bow deck, or a little of both? I can visualize having a massive hatch at the bow for tackle, rod storage. Just trying to visualize it. Thanks for all the input by the way.

yeah with a step.

cuddys will have lots of free board if you loose the cuddy section. so if you added a step up to the bow platform.....and put the console right at the step area....

you could have the best of both worlds

I'd probably put a casting deck in the front... or the rear... either way lol. and the opposite with hatches and stuff... the console wpould probably go about midship

oh....as far as your tank fill..... i would use a gunwhale top filler for that.

when you foam the hull.....just dig out the new foam in such a fashon that it is at a constant drain to the tank....no low spots.

if you are worried about digging new foam.....just throw a chunk of pvc pipe the same diameter on top of the foam as it is raising...make sure you monitor it so that it is at a constant drain.......after the foam cures......pull the pipe.....and you have a pre formed channel to lay your hose

When i pulled the deck off No foam was under it. And havnt thought about putting foam in either. Is it needed?

Wife shut me down on the cc idea. Because we have two young kids she wants a area she can lay them down if needed. So the cuddy stays. Ill just build a hard top when that point in construction comes. Maybe build a solid enclosure with lexan and framing leaving the back open instead of the bimini top and vinyl.
