225 wont idle down,

i just intstalled a reman pwr hd, and fired it up. Seems to run fine, but is running 2000 rpm, with throttle in neutral.

Running on muffs, and prop disengaged, double oil, timing at TDC

Messed with carb synch, idle timing, but to no avail.

Any help is appreciated.

what year 225 is it ? could be air leak somewhere in the fuel system or faststart

Worked with it on the water yesterday, played with timing, can get it to idle fine under load, but when not in gear, rpms climb to 13-1500.
