Offense also behind the Duckman! Hodges impressed in preseason ... that was why they traded Dobbs. Hodges showed up at tryouts and he has his first NFL start and passing TD! Cool story!

Looks like I missed a good one. We had our Thanksgiving today here at the lake. When everyone cleared out I turned the game on and Detroit to my astonishment was ahead of GB by a few TD's. I helped my lady who has been prepping for a few days, all morning then cooked a fabulous meal and enough food for 30 people at least. If a meal involves toamtoes and garlic I am in charge, for a proper Canadian Thanksgiving dinner she is the Capt. I just had to help clean up the mess and helped clear the counter top full of dishes, pots, pans, glasses and cutlery 18 people can leave. I turn the game back on and there is 1 second on the clock and Green Bay kicks the game winning field goal. The talking heads are talking about poor officiating, again. What did I miss?

You missed two hands on the face calls against the Lions that were wrong. He never made contact with the other players face. Then there was a pass interference call not called against Green Bay that even the rules analyst said should have been called. Officials 1, Lions 0. Actually it's really Officials 3, Lions 0.

That's what I heard on the NFL Network. The officials look like they have never called a game in their lives this season. With billions of dollars invested in this league one would think it's time for full time officials. They huddle as much as the offences do this year.

Got a few hours sleep and set the clock for 4AM. Replay on the NFL Network this AM at 4. I sure wish I didn't know the outcome though. I should have made a bet with my wife before she hit the hay. She doesn't fall for that much after 27 years hanging around with me.

Matt Stafford's best 1st quarter passing stats in his career. Stats are for talking heads and statisticians. Oh, you fantasy guys too.

The officiating has been poor ... in the NFL and in the NCAA. The defensive hands to the face on Flowers ... both on 3rd down ... were huge in the game outcome. There were several PI’s not called, but that one was so blatant. It is tough when 2 good teams are playing and you have to fight to overcome not only the other team, but the officials also.

Yeah, it was bad. Not sure if anyone noticed, but on the last hands to the face call a Packers lineman grabbed the facemask of a Lion. Ref was right there and partially blocked the replay, but he was concentrating on what have should have been a non call.
Ended up the packers had a chip shot FG for the win. Refs make mistakes like anyone else, but this year has been ridiculous.

And the helmet to helmet call when he was clearly going for the ball. Even the guys calling the game couldn't believe all the improper calls.....

Yes, I noticed the offensive face mask on that play, but Flowers got blamed.:facepalm: It has not been a good year for officiating. After last weeks PSU v Iowa college game there was a petition on Change.org to fire Referee John O'Neill and his crew. Is it because not every play is replayed in slow motion with so many cameras that you have a good look at each player on the field all the time, or is it because the game has gotten faster and the officiating hasn't caught up, or is it because the officials have so many rules to enforce that sometimes this call or that call lacks?
