I was going to get a 3/4T Chevy with the Duramax but with the new emission equipment on the diesels these days, you face hefty repair costs in the future...no thanks.

This is what changed my mind. That and the fact that $40k gets you a 3/4T diesel that is already out of warranty around here.

40K

I guess I am a rookie when it comes to buying big boy trucks! Heck my house that I am living in right now with 5 acres only cost me 40K!

LOL...wish I paid that little for my my truck! The good thing is that I rarely if ever buy a new vehicle.

I was looking for a used one. Found a nice 2017, but it was only a couple thousand less than new.

Congrats on the Eco! Love the low end pulling power these things have.

I had a very negative experience with FCA and made a promise to their "Ram Cares" representative that i'd share my experience at every opportunity I get.

I had a 2014 Ram Hemi 8spd with all the tow options that I bought new, the transmission failed at 5x,xxx miles while towing my 21' tritoon on vacation, 280* trans temp, locked in 6th gear, it was towed to the nearest dealer. The loaner truck that was provided under the powertrain warranty had no hitch, I was told that FCA doesn't provide a truck that I can tow with. I was on vacation for a week with my boat and no tow vehicle. The dealer replaced just the valve body, didn't even do a fluid flush. I opened a case with "Ram Cares" about the issue, the ultimately did absolutely nothing. I picked up the truck on teh last day of vacation when it was "fixed", the transmission immediately ran hot (237*), I called the service manager, he told me "chrysler won't do anything until the transmission fails again". I called "Ram Cares" again, and the response was "now you said you tow a pretty big boat, right?", to which I responded, "no, it's a 4,000lb total load being towed at no higher than 65mph, and this truck has a 10,000lb tow rating". Two months later the rear differential began to howl, I took it to another dealer that is local to where I live, that service manager told me it was normal "all of these trucks do that". I traded it in on a 1 year old 2016 Ecoboost Expedition and have had no problems since.

My daughter has a '14 Ram Hemi; out of warranty. #3 piston is dead; over 3K to repair. Still paying on it 4 more years. (600)

Hemi - and there is no reason that a 2019 Hemi 4wd should cost more than an ecoboost ford. Find a dealer that does more volume. I just recently replaced my 2wd 2009 hemi crewcab (175K miles) and 4wd is not needed for any boat ramps I use, nor the snow we get in MN. Just replaced it with a 2018 4wd Bighoprn hemi crewcab (cost me 35K brand new). With a few outliers the Hemi platform is the most reliable one out there at the moment.

375 HP out of a 3.5 L engine (210 Cu In. +/- ) . . . that is a crazy amount of power. If I ever get a truck, that would be on my short list. Could even tow my 330 SS :) :thumb:

they get over 450 hp out of a V6 turbo at ford..... they put it standard in the Raptor
