2014 Merc Verado 225

Can someone help me with this motor? Are they reliable motors? Do they come with remote control controls or do I need cables? Is this a two stroke or four stroke?

2) Do they come with remote control controls or do I need cables?...Have to purchase DTS controls if not supplied
3)Is this a two stroke or four stroke?...Supercharged 4 stroke and not every Merc dealer can work on them

A significant amount of PM work compared to a 2-stroke

Less than an I/O…
Change oil (motor and LU) and filters annually.

Having said that, not a fan.
Rather “doggie” for a 225 HP outboard. Much prefer a 6 cylinder

Had to look…... the break point is at 200 HP, not 225 as I had thought.

Small displacement…2.6L verse Yamaha’s 4.3 L

It’s between this one and a Yamaha OX66 250… I really like Yamaha, although the Verado has good reviews as well.
